In what year (or at the very closest decade) does the Disney movie "101 Dalmatians" take place?

I've done much research for a fan-fiction that I tried to write back
in the day, but I somehow managed to get the time period wrong (I put
it in the 1930's to try and create a Great Depression-type of feeling
(and that didn't go too well). I narrowed the time period between 1944
and 1962 because Cruella is reading a newspaper called "Reynolds News
and Sunday Citizen". Putting a year (or even a model) on the car and
on some other features is not possible for me, and I couldn't see the
date the mentioned newspaper was printed in (the font was very small).
If anyone can help me narrow it down even more, it would be greatly
appreciated.
I am referring to the animated one, not the live-action one.
