Kino Lorber nabs 'Kumare'

Kino Lorber has bought U.S. privileges towards the documentary ''Kumare,'' which first showed at South by Southwest this season. Pic's directed by Vikram Gandhi and created by Brendan Colthurst and Bryan Carmel through the Disposable Television banner. The executive producer is Stephen Feder. Kino Lorber introduced the offer Thursday. After its world premiere at SXSW, ''Kumar '' received the festival's Audience Award for feature documentary. It won the Jury Prize for the best Documentary Feature in the Even Caribbean Cruises Film Festival and performed at the begining of November at DOC New york city in NY City. This deal was discussed between Kino Lorber Boss and Leader Richard Lorber, Cinetic's Dana O'Keefe and Vikram Gandhi. Kino Lorber is likely to open ''Kumar '' countrywide in May or June prior to making the film on major VOD platforms throughout the summer time and early fall. Bond Strategy and Influence, which done ''Exit With the Gift Shop,'' ''Senna'' and ''The Way,'' is going to be joining up with Kino Lorber around the theatrical discharge of ''Kumare.'' ''Kumar '' is really a guru in the East who indoctrinated several fans in the western world -- and also the alter ego of yankee filmmaker Vikram Gandhi who inpersonated a spiritual leader with regard to a social experiment made to challenge probably the most broadly recognized taboos: that merely a small ''1%'' can connect the relaxation around the globe to some greater energy.
